NATSIC-AS is proud to support the establishment of the First Nations Union (FNU) in partnership with MYUNION.
FNU and MYUNION are 100% Indigenous owned and provide professional employment, discrimination and human rights advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
What can FNU and MYUNION help with?
Support and advocacy is available for matters including:
unfair dismissal and workplace disputes;
workplace bullying and harassment;
racial and other discrimination;
sexual harassment;
human rights complaints;
housing and accommodation discrimination;
discrimination involving goods and services;
discrimination in education and other areas of public life; and
advocacy through Human Rights Commissions and, where appropriate, tribunals.
The aim is simple: to make it easier for First Nations people to have someone in their corner when they are being treated unfairly.
Culturally Informed Advocacy
First Nations people can face barriers that are not always understood by employers, organisations and institutions.
FNU, MYUNION and NATSIC-AS recognise the importance of advocacy that understands culture, community and the experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
People seeking assistance should be listened to, respected and given a genuine opportunity to have their concerns heard.
A First Nations Partnership
The First Nations Union initiative has been established in partnership with NATSIC-AS – National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation – Advocacy Service.
NATSIC-AS is a First Nations organisation and is Supply Nation certified.
Together with MYUNION and FNU, we are working to improve access to professional advocacy for First Nations people across Australia.
Back the people who back you.
Employment. Discrimination. Human Rights.
